Ravens Expect To Sign Another RB

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh mentioned that he believes in Anthony Allen and Damien Berry, but expects to add another running back at some point.

Anthony Allen goes from third [running back to] potentially No. 1 if something happens,” Harbaugh said, via the Baltimore Sun. “Every backup player is an injury away, a play away from being the guy. We think a lot of him, we think a lot of Damien Berry. We think they’re going to have very good seasons, but we’ve got to look at some insurance, too. We’ve got to have more than two running backs on our roster, so we’ll add some guys.”

There’s no question that the Ravens will have to find some extra talent at the position. The free agent market is pretty bleak in regards to quality talent. Ryan Grant, Cedric Benson, Tim Hightower, and Joseph Addai are still available but each of them come with concerns. Baltimore has very limited cap space to work with, but signing any of these players could require a huge contract. The draft is another option for the Ravens, but it’s hard to say which way they’re leaning right now.
