Ravens Hosting DE Ezekiel Ansah For Visit

The Baltimore Ravens are hosting free agent DE/OLB Ezekiel Ansah for a visit on Wednesday, according to Jamison Hensley

Hensley adds that nothing imminent between Ansah and the Ravens, who have a need for edge rusher after losing Terrell Suggs and Za’Darius Smith in free agency.

Last we heard regarding Ansah, Ian Rapoport reported that he is facing questions about his surgically-repaired shoulder and could wait until mid-April to sign with a team.

Ansah’s agent mentioned that the former Detroit Lion will have his four-month appointment in mid-April to check on the shoulder.  Teams are in no rush to sign Ansah before then after the initial wave of free agency has passed, per Rapoport.

Ansah has had visits with the Saints and Bills so far.  The Jets were another team reportedly interested.

Ansah, 29, was taken with the No. 5 overall pick by the Lions back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $18.595 million rookie contract before the Lions picked up his fifth-year option last May.

Ansah made a base salary $12.7 million for the 2017 season before the Lions used the franchise tag on him last year that cost them around $17.5 million fully guaranteed for the 2018 season.

Ansah is once again testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

In 2018, Ansah appeared in seven games for the Lions and recorded 11 tackles and four sacks.
