Ravens Place Low Tender On RFA C Matt Skura

According to Mike Garafolo, the Ravens are placing the original round tender on C Matt Skura

Because Baltimore acquired Skura as an undrafted free agent, they will receive no compensation if another team signs him to an offer sheet.

However, Skura is coming off a severe knee injury, which makes it unlikely another team will try to poach him. There was actually some doubt as to whether the Ravens would go as high as the original round tender to keep Skura.

Skura, 27, wound up signing on with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Duke back in May of 2016. He was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the team’s practice squad before returning to Baltimore on a future/reserve contract the following offseason.

He was eventually promoted to Baltimore’s active roster in September of 2017 and has re-signed two consecutive one-year, exclusive rights contracts.

In 2019, Skura appeared in 12 games and Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 11 overall center out of 36 qualifying players before he went on injured reserve following Week 12.
