Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun first reported that a contract extension between the Ravens and Pro Bowl G Marshal Yanda was expected to be finalized soon.
- According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the two sides do, in fact, have an agreement in place.
- Aaron Wilson reports that Yanda receives a four-year extension.
Several months ago, Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti told season ticket holders during a conference call that were working on a contract extension for Yanda, but there wasn’t any reported progress since then.
Yanda, 31, had one year remaining on his five-year, $32.5 million contract that included $10 million guaranteed. He stands to make a base salary of $5.5 million for the 2015 season, which is very reasonable given how good he’s been in recent years.
This season, Yanda has continued to play at a very high level for the Ravens, and rates as the No. 1 guard out of 77 qualifying players, according to Pro Football Focus.
We’ll have the contract details posted as the news is available.
