Redskins Claim Former Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood Off Waivers

According to Field Yates, the Redskins have claimed former Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood

Smallwood was waived by the Eagles during final cutdowns yesterday. 

Smallwood, 25, is a former fifth-round pick by the Eagles in the 2016 NFL Draft out of West Virginia. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $2,584,578 rookie contract and set to earn a base salary of $720,000 this season. 

In 2018, Smallwood appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and recorded 87 rushing attempts for 364 yards (4.2 YPC) and, one fumble lost, and three touchdowns to go along with 28 receptions for 230 yards receiving (8.2 YPC) and two touchdowns.
