Redskins LB Cassanova McKinzy Out For Season With Torn Pectoral

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Redskins LB Cassanova McKinzy suffered a torn pectoral during Thursday’s loss to the Cowboys.

This injury will cost McKinzy the remainder of the 2018 season and should result in him being placed on injured reserve in the coming days.

McKinzy, 25, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn back in May of last year. Tampa Bay wound up waiving him during the preseason and he caught on with the Rams’ practice squad.

Los Angeles signed him to a futures contract but made him one of their final roster cuts as they trimmed down to the 53-man limit. The Rams re-signed him to their practice squad, but released him after a couple weeks.

McKinzy signed a futures contract with the Redskins this past January and has been on and off of their roster ever since.

In 2018, McKinzy has appeared in three games and recorded one tackle.
