Redskins Place LB Cassanova McKinzy On Injured Reserve

The Washington Redskins officially placed LB Cassanova McKinzy on injured reserve Tuesday to make room for LB Reuben Foster, who was claimed off of waivers.

McKinzy, 25, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn back in May of last year. Tampa Bay wound up waiving him during the preseason and he caught on with the Rams’ practice squad.

Los Angeles signed him to a futures contract but made him one of their final roster cuts as they trimmed down to the 53-man limit. The Rams re-signed him to their practice squad, but released him after a couple weeks.

McKinzy signed a futures contract with the Redskins this past January and has been on and off of their roster ever since.

In 2018, McKinzy has appeared in three games and recorded one tackle.
