Ross Jones of FOX Sports has confirmed that Redd sustained a season-ending ACL injury in last night.

Following Thursday night’s preseason opener, Redskins HC Jay Gruden told reporters that they were concerned that Redd may have suffered a “possible ACL/MCL” tear, so this clearly an injury that would keep him out for an extended period of time.

Redd, 23, signed on with Washington as an undrafted free agent out of USC back in May of last year. He wound up making the team coming out of the preseason and appeared in all 16 games, rushing for 75 yards on 16 carries (4.7 YPC) to go along with eight receptions for 107 yards receiving and one total touchdown.

Redd still has another two years remaining on his three-year, $1.53 million rookie contract, which includes a base salary of $510,000 for the 2015 season.
