Report: Chargers Close To Releasing DT Antonio Garay

Ian Rapoport reports that a source has informed him that the Chargers are “heading toward” releasing DT  Antonio Garay.

Garay, 33, is set to make a base salary of $3.5 million for the 2013 season. He also has a $1.5 million roster bonus at some point as well.

Garay has actually been a serviceable player in terms of production, despite being relegated to a part-time role in the Chargers’ defense.
