Report: Chiefs Expected To Retain GM Scott Pioli

Steve Wyche of NFL.com reports that a source who has been briefed on the situation has informed him that the Kansas City Chiefs are expected to retain GM Scott Pioli even after what has been a disastrous 2012 season to say the least.

Head coach Romeo Crennel is expected to be fired in the coming days and there’s been some speculation that the Chiefs could target Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz.

Chiefs’ owner Clark Hunt is a big supporter of Pioli, but I can’t imagine this going over well with the team’s fan base, considering that they’ve been calling for Pioli’s removal for months now. Pioli main objective will be to find quarterback should he remain in charge.
