ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Dallas Cowboys DE DeMarcus Ware is expected to miss three to four weeks with a strained quad.

Typically, strains don’t require multiple weeks to recuperate, so this appears to be a fairly serious injury for Ware. It’s worth noting that Ware has never missed a game in his NFL career, which further suggests he has a concerning injury.

Dallas is dealing with a number of injuries to their defensive line, so this is hardly the type of news they were hoping for. Ware currently ranks as the No. 2 4-3 defensive end, according to Pro Football Focus. We’ll have to see if they add some free agents this week.
