The New Orleans Saints officially signed LB Andrew Dowell to their practice squad and released DB Trae Elston from the unit.

Here’s the Saints updated practice squad:

  1. WR Taquan Mizzell
  2. OL John Leglue
  3. WR Emmanuel Butler
  4. OL Derrick Kelly II
  5. S T.J. Green
  6. DE Mitchell Loewen
  7. DT Taylor Stallworth
  8. TE Jason Vander Laan
  9. WR Lil-Jordan Humphrey
  10. LB Andrew Dowell

Elston, 25, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss back in May of 2016. He was unfortunately waived coming out of the preseason but later signed on to the Buccaneers’ practice squad.

Since then, Elston has played for several teams including the Browns, Bills, Eagles and Dolphins. The Saints signed him to their practice squad after Philadelphia waived him coming out of the preseason.

In 2017, Elston played in 14 games, one for the Eagles, 13 for the Bills, and recorded 17 total tackles, one interception and one pass defense.
