Saints Release QB J.T. Barrett From P-Squad, Sign WR Paul Turner

The New Orleans Saints have released J.T. Barrett from their practice squad on Tuesday and signed WR Paul Turner to the unit, according to Nick Underhill.

Here’s the Saints updated practice squad:

  1. DE Alex Jenkins (International)
  2. OL Nate Wozniak
  3. LB Darnell Sankey
  4. DT Tomasi Laulile
  5. DB Chris Campbell
  6. WR Shane Wynn
  7. DB J.T. Gray
  8. DB Arthur Maulet
  9. G Isaiah Williams
  10. RB Martez Carter
  11. WR Paul Turner

Barrett, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Ohio State back in May before signing a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Saints. New Orleans elected to waive Barrett as they cut their roster down to 53 players coming out of the preseason and they later added him to their practice squad.

Barrett has been on and off of the Saints’ practice squad ever since.

During his four years at OSU, Barrett threw for 9,434 yards while completing 63.5 percent of his passes to go along with 104 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. He also rushed for 3,263 yards and 43 touchdowns.
