Field Yates of ESPN reports that Saints WR Willie Snead officially signed his one-year exclusive rights tender on Monday.
The Saints andย Snead have reportedly been negotiating a long-term extension, but it appears as though he’ll play out the year under the exclusive tender.
Snead, 24, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent back in 2014. He lasted just a few months in Cleveland before signing on to the Panthers’ practice squad during his rookie season. Snead eventually joined the Saints towards the end of the year and returned to the team on a future/reserve contract.
In 2016, Snead appeared in 15 games and caught 72 passes for 895 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
