Seahawks Make Offer For Kevin Kolb?

Dave “Softy” Mahler of KJR 950 AM in Seattle is reporting that theĀ Seattle Seahawks have stepped up their pursuit of Philadelphia Eagles QB Kevin Kolb with a recent offer of a first and third-round pick.

If this is accurate, it would most likely be the best offer on the board. The Arizona Cardinals have been believed to be the favorites to land Kolb for sometime now but a few recent reports have mentioned that their interest could beĀ waning.Ā Jim Trotter ofĀ Sports Illustrated speculates that the Eagles could have interest in one of the Cardinals running backs (Beanie Wells or Tim Hightower) but that remains to be seen at this point in time.

Other reports have suggested that Eagles may be looking for a player that can help them immediately in return for Kolb rather than draft picks but a deal that would consist of a first andĀ third-round pick is almost to good to pass up. Whoever gets Kolb will have to be willing to sign him to a multi-year deal since he’s a free agent at the end of the 2011 season.
