Seahawks OC Brian Schottenheimer Has Received “Strong Recommendation” For Texans’ HC Job

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Jed Hughes, who has been hired to assist with the Texans’ head-coaching search, recently made a “strong recommendation” for Seahawks OC Brian Schottenheimer as someone who deserves “serious consideration” for their vacancy.

Schefter adds that many believe Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy is a “strong candidate” for the Texans’ job.

Schottenheimer, 47, began his NFL coaching career with the Rams in 1997 as an assistant. He later worked for Washington, Chargers, Jets and Rams before joining the Colts in 2016.

The Seahawks hired him as their offensive coordinator for the 2018 season and he’s remained in Seattle ever since.

In 2020, the Seahawks’ offense ranks No. 8 in total yards, No. 4 in points scored, No. 13 in rushing yards and No. 7 in passing yards.

We’ll have more regarding the Texans’ head-coaching search as the news is available.
