Seahawks Place C Justin Britt On IR, Promote G Jordan Roos

The Seahawks announced on Tuesday they have placed C Justin Britt on injured reserve and promoted G Jordan Roos from the practice squad to take his place.

Britt tore his ACL during Sunday’s game and will have reconstructive surgery as the first step in his recovery process for 2020.

Britt, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2014. He was in the final year of his four-year, $3,546,930 contract and set to make a base salary of $891,399 for the 2017 season when the Seahawks signed him to a  three-year, $27 million extension.

Britt stands to make base salaries of $4.5 million (2019), and $8.25 million (2020) over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2019, Britt has appeared in eight games for the Seahawks and made eight starts.
