Seahawks Waive LB Ronald Powell Off I.R. With Settlement

According to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, the Seahawks have waived LB Ronald Powell from their injured reserve list with an injury settlement.

Powell, 26, was taken in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Saints. He was able to make the Saints’ 53-man roster during his rookie season but was unfortunately waived from injured reserve with a settlement at the start of the 2015 season.

Powell finished out the 2015 season on the Buccaneers’ practice squad. It wasn’t until a few weeks into the 2016 season that the Bears added him to their practice squad.

The Seahawks signed him off the Bears’ practice squad back in December of last year but waived him with an injury designation on Thursday and he reverted to their injured reserve on Friday.

In 2014, Powell appeared in 14 games for the Saints and recorded two total tackles.
