Several Teams Interested In CB Deandre Baker

According to Paul Schwartz, five teams so far are potentially in play to sign former Giants first-round CB Deandre Baker

Schwartz lists the 49ers, Bengals, Chiefs and Jaguars as teams interested in Baker. He adds the Cowboys could also be in play.

Per Jon Machota, when asked about Dallas potentially having interest in Baker, owner Jerry Jones responded: “We’re always looking to improve. That’s all I’ll say there.”

Prosecutors dropped all four charges of armed robbery that Baker was facing after the lawyer for three of the alleged victims was arrested on extortion charges.

Baker could still potentially face NFL discipline for the incident but it appears teams are willing to take a chance on the former first-round pick.

The Giants waived Baker earlier in the season after he was placed on the commissioner’s exempt list and no end to the case appeared to be in sight.

Baker, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Giants back in 2019. He’s in the second year of his four-year, $10,525,716 contract that included a $5,675,064 signing bonus.

The contract included a fifth-year option for the Giants to pick up for the 2023 season.

In 2019, Baker appeared in all 16 games for the Giants and recorded 61 tackles, no interceptions and eight passes defended.

We’ll have more on Baker as the news is available.
