Steelers Place CB Senquez Golson & OT Ryan Harris On I.R., Promote DB Al-Hajj Shabazz & OT Matt Feiler

According to Mark Kaboly, the Steelers placed CB Senquez Golson (Lisfranc) and OT Ryan Harris on injured reserve.

  • The Steelers also promoted DB Al-Hajj Shabazz and OT Matt Feiler from their practice squad.

Golson, 23, was taken in the second round of last year’s NFL Draft. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $4.001 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

He underwent surgery back in August and was expected to miss four months with his Lisfranc injury. He also missed all of the 2015 season with a shoulder injury, so this is clearly discouraging news.

Harris, 31, is a former third-round pick of the Broncos back in 2007. He played out his rookie contract with the Broncos before signing on with the Eagles in 2011. Since then, he’s traveled around to the Texans and Chiefs before returning to the Broncos on a one-year deal last May.

The Steelers signed Harris to a two-year, $3.9 million deal back in March.

In 2016, Harris was active for all four games for the Steelers. Last season, Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 53 offensive tackle out of 77 qualifying players.
