Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall Out For Week 8

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Steelers will be without RB Rashard Mendenhall this weekend, which means Jonathan Dwyer could be in line for a very large workload against the Washington Redskins.

Mike Bires of the Beaver County Times tweets that Steelers RB Jonathan Dwyer figures to get another start this weekend against the Redskins.

Isaac Redman returned to practice on Thursday, but was limited and Rashard Mendenhall is expected to be held out of action, which leaves Dwyer in position to handle a good majority of the team’s workload.

As we mentioned earlier in the week, the Steelers may want to see how Dwyer responds to more carries in the coming weeks, which in turn would give them a better idea of whether or not they can move on without Mendenhall next season.
