Steelers Rookie WR Devin Gardner Reverts To I.R. After Clearing Waivers

The Pittsburgh Steelers placed WR Devin Gardner on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday, according to the NFL transactions release.

Pittsburgh waived/injured Gardner yesterday and signed veteran K Garrett Hartley to a contract, so as long as he passed through waivers, injured reserve was a possibility.

Gardner, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Michigan and is making the tranistion from quarterback to receiver, but still managed to receive some guaranteed money as part of his rookie contract.

At Michigan, Gardner threw for 6,336 yards while completing 60.4 percent of his passes to go along with 44 touchdowns to go along with 32 interceptions.
