Steelers Sign C J.C. Hassenauer To Practice Squad, Release TE Kevin Rader

The Steelers announced on Wednesday they have signed C J.C. Hassenauer to the practice squad and released TE Kevin Rader

Here’s an updated look at Pittsburgh’s practice squad:

  2. OL Derwin Gray
  3. DL Henry Mondeaux
  4. OL Patrick Morris
  5. TE Christian Scotland-Williamson (International)
  6. CB Alex Myres
  7. OT Christian DiLauro
  8. WR Amara Darboh
  9. WR Quadree Henderson
  10. RB Ralph Webb
  11. C J.C. Hassenauer

Hassenauer, 24, wound up signing on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama back in May of 2018. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with Atlanta, but was waived coming out of the preseason.

The Falcons re-signed Hassenauer to their practice squad, only to release him a month later. From there, Hassenauer signed on with the Birmingham Iron of the now-defunct AAF.

Hassenauer caught on with the Steelers after the AAF folded but was waived again coming out of the preseason. 

Hassenauer has yet to appear in an NFL game.
