Steelers Worked Out Five Players

The Pittsburgh Steelers brought in five free agents for tryouts on Monday including OLB Jayrone Elliott, according to Mike Jones.

The full list of tryouts for the Steelers includes:

  1. G Andrew Dickinson
  2. LB Jayrone Elliott
  3. LS Liam McCullough
  4. LS Rex Sunahara
  5. LB Kyahva Tezino

Elliott, 28, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out Toledo back in 2014. He played out the final year of his three-year, $1,535,000 rookie contract with the Packers but did not receive a restricted offer from the team.

The Packers re-signed Elliott in 2017 before trading him to the Cowboys at the start of the regular season. Dallas elected to cut Elliott loose after a few weeks and later had a brief stint with the Saints.

From there, Elliott played for the San Antonio Commanders and led the now-defunct AAF in sacks, which earned him a shot with the Dolphins last year. Miami waived Elliott in July and he was on and off of the Steelers’ roster last season.

In 2019, Elliot appeared in five games for the Steelers and recorded four tackles and no sacks.
