Ravens & Jeremy Zuttah Close To Deal, Colts Still An Option

Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun reports that talks between the Ravens and free agent OL Jeremy Zuttah have become “more intense” in recent days, but the Colts remain in the picture.

Preston adds that Zuttah and Ravens are close to deal.

Zuttah, 31, is a former third-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2008. He spent six seasons in Tampa Bay before he was traded to the Ravens in 2014 for a fifth-round pick that eventually became WR Kenny Bell.

Zuttah is in the third year of his five-year, $18 million contract that included $6.5 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $3.5 million for the 2017 season.

The Ravens traded Zuttah and their 2017 sixth-round pick to the 49ers in return for San Francisco’s sixth-round pick this past March. However, San Francisco released Zuttah a few days ago.

In 2016, Zuttah appeared in all 16 games for the Ravens and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 13 center out of 38 qualifying players.
