Terrell Owens “100 Percent” Serious About Playing For CFL’s Edmonton Eskimos

A few weeks ago, the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL added Hall of Fame WR Terrell Owens to their negotiations list.

TSN reported Monday that Owens activated the clause that will force the Eskimos to either offer him a contract or release him from the list within 10 days.

Owens’ agent, Jason Staroszik, tells TSN that his client is “100 percent” serious about playing in the CFL.

“Absolutely 100 percent,” Staroszik said of Owens’ interest in playing in the CFL. “He still feels like he has some football years left in him. He just loves the game and wants to get back to playing whether it’s the CFL or NFL.

Earlier this offseason, Owens posted a video of him running a sub-4.5-second 40-yard dash while working out with Falcons WR Julio Jones.

Owens is among the players being inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the coming weeks.

Owens, 44, is a former third-round pick of the 49ers back in 1996. He played for five teams including the Eagles, Cowboys, Bills and Bengals over the course of 15 seasons.

For his career, Owens caught 1,078 passes for 15,934 yards receiving and 153 touchdowns. He also rushed for 251 yards and three touchdowns over the course of 219 games.

Owens was a six-time Pro Bowler and a five-time All-Pro selection.
