Texans Place OL Tytus Howard On IR, Promote DT Eddie Vanderdoes

The Houston Texans announced that they have promoted DT Eddie Vanderdoes from their practice squad to the active roster and placed OL Tytus Howard on injured reserve.

He sustained a torn MCL back in Week 6 but was able to return after missing two games. However, his season is now over.

Howard, 23, was the No. 23 overall pick by the Texans out of Alabama State. He signed a four-year, $12,225,554 rookie contract that included a $6,911,312 signing bonus.

The Texans will have a fifth-year option to pick up on Howard in 2022.

In 2019, Howard has appeared in four games for the Texans. Pro Football Focus has Howard rated as the No. 41 offensive tackle out of 69 qualifying players.
