Texans Worked Out 3 Players Including S Don Jones & CB Charles Gaines

According to Adam Caplan, the Texans worked out three players on Tuesday including CB Charles Gaines, S Don Jones, and CB Denzel Rice.

Jones, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2013. He spent over a year in Miami before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season and later claimed by the Patriots.

Jones returned to the Dolphins before signing onto the Saints’ practice squad at the start of the 2015 season. The Browns wound up claiming off of waivers from the Saints in October. Cleveland decided to waive him to make room for TE Connor Hamlett.

In 2016, Jones has appeared in four games and recorded one total tackle.

Gaines, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Browns back in 2015. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2,402,136 contract when the Browns elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

Gaines spent a good portion of the 2015 season on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

In 2015, Gaines appeared in five games for the Browns and recorded 15 tackles, a forced fumble, and two pass defenses.
