Per Aaron Wilson, the Texans worked out veteran LB Caleb Johnson on Saturday.
The transaction wire later revealed that the team had also tried out DE Devean Deal and LB Antonio Grier.
Johnson, 28, signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Houston Baptist following the 2021 NFL Draft. He made the team coming out of the preseason.
The Bears waived Johnson coming out of the preseason in 2022, and he was later claimed off waivers by the Jaguars.
After three seasons with Jacksonville, Johnson signed on with the Dolphins for the 2025 season.
In 2025, Johnson appeared in two games for the Dolphins and recorded two tackles.
