Titans Reach An Agreement With S Bernard Pollard

Josina Anderson reports that free agent S Bernard Pollard informed her that he’s “agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Titans.”

  • Ian Rapoport adds that Pollard will receive a one-year deal.
  • Jim Wyatt mentioned yesterday that the Titans had interest in Pollard, but added that they were currently in a “holding pattern” in regards to signing him.

Tennessee’s safeties were atrocious last year, so they had to find someone who’s capable of bringing some consistency to their unit. The Titans also added George Wilson a few weeks ago.

Pollard, 28, is much more of a run-stopper than an effective coverage safety. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 28 safety in league and slightly above average in terms of his production.

We had him listed as the No. 30 player in our recently updated Top 50 Free Agents list.
