Titans Sign DB Doug Middleton, Waive G Avery Gennesy

The Tennessee Titans announced Wednesday that they’ve signed DB Doug Middleton and waived G Avery Gennesy.

Doug Middleton

Middleton, 26, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State back in 2016. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later signed to the team’s practice squad.

The Jets waived Middleton during the 2017 preseason with an injury designation and he later reverted to their injured reserve list. New York re-signed him to a one-year exclusive rights contract last year and he later caught on with the Dolphins.

From there, the Jaguars signed Middleton to their practice squad and eventually called him up towards the end of the season.

In 2019, Middleton appeared in three games for the Jaguars and Dolphins and recorded two tackles.
