Titans Tried Out 8 Players Including WR Jarrett Boykin

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Titans brought in eight players for tryouts including former Packers WR Jarrett Boykin.

The other players who worked out for Tennessee include: WR Kevin Cone, WR DaVaris Daniels, C Dillon Farrel, WR Tavarres King, C Austin Reiter, QB Dustin Vaughan, and TE D.J. Williams.

Boykin, 25, originally signed on with the Jaguars as undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech back in 2012. He later caught on with the Packers after he was waived by Jacksonville a month after the signed him.

The Panthers wound up signing him to a one-year, $700,000 contract back in late March. However, he was among the team’s early roster cuts a few weeks ago.

In 2014, Boykin appeared in 13 games for Green Bay and caught three passes for 23 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

  1. Perhaps the Titans should claim (or sign, if he clears waivers) OT Tyrus Thompson, who was the Vikings 6th round pick (#185) this year. He played LT at Oklahoma, and has good size (6’4 7/8″, 324, 34 7/8″ arms, and 10 1/8″ hands).

They should have claimed Patriots 3rd year OLB Eric Martin, before he re-signed to their Practice Squad. Martin has good size (listed at 6’2″, 250, 32 3/4″ arms, and 9 7/8″ hands), and great speed (4.53-40 only 1/100th of a second outside the top 10% , 1.61-10, 6.63-3 cone, when a 6.85 puts you in the top 10% for OLB’s in the last 10 years, and a 3.97-20 yard shuttle, when a 4.11 puts you in the top 10%) for a pass rusher. Maybe they should still try and sign him, they could use more depth at OLB.
