Veteran DL Devon Still Retiring From NFL

Veteran DL Devon Still tells TMZ Sports that he plans to retire from the NFL and move on to the next phase of his life.

“I never wanted to be somebody who gives up on their dreams,” Still said, “but I don’t want to be somebody who chases their dream too long and misses other opportunities.

A few months ago, Still indicated that retirement was a possibility for him, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

Still, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He spent just over two years in Cincinnati before he was released at the start of the 2014 season and later added to the team’s practice squad.

The Bengals brought Still back on a one-year, $740,000 contract back in March of 2015 but he wound up being among their final roster cuts at the start of the season.

Still later signed a future/reserve contract with the Texans last January and he managed to make the team coming out of the preseason. However, he was placed on injured reserve a few months into the regular season.

The Jets signed him this past August but was among their roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

For his career, Still recorded 21 tackles, a half sack, a forced fumble and three pass defenses over the course of 33 games for the Bengals and Texans.
