Veteran WR Jeremy Maclin Retiring From NFL

Former Eagles, Ravens and Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin announced his retirement from the NFL on Sunday at his wife’s baby shower.

Maclin has also confirmed the news via his Twitter account:

Maclin underwent hamstring/glute surgery last year and missed the remainder of the 2018 season. There wasn’t any reported interest in him this offseason, despite being one of the best available receivers at this point.

Maclin, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Eagles back in 2009. He spent five years with the Eagles before signing a five-year, $55 million contract that included $22.5 million guaranteed with the Chiefs in 2015.

After being released by the Chiefs, Maclin signed him to a two-year, $11 million contract with the Ravens in 2017, but was, unfortunately, released after one year.

For his career, Maclin caught 514 passes for 6,835 yards receiving and 49 touchdowns over the course of eight seasons and 114 total games.
