Vikings Place CB Chris Cook On IR

The Vikings placed CB Chris Cook on injured reserve with the “designated for return” tag, via the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier mentioned that CB Chris Cook suffered a broken arm, not a fractured wrist like previous reports suggested, via  ESPN 1500 Twin Cities.

Cook will undergo surgery and is expected to be out for seven to eight weeks, which should end his 2012 season.

Vikings CB Chris Cook was seen holding his wrist as he left the field during the second-half of Thursday night’s loss to the Buccaneers.  X-rays confirmed that Cook suffered a broken right wrist.

“Sometimes you can cast it. I don’t know enough yet,” said Vikings HC Leslie Frazier, per Tom Pelissero.

This is an obvious indication that Vikings are still unsure how long Cook will be out. A.J. Jefferson replaced him last night and figures to see more playing in the coming weeks.
