Vikings Shopping CB Trae Waynes In Trade Talks

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Vikings are shopping CB Trae Waynes in trade talks at the Scouting Combine.

Waynes, 26, is a former first-round pick out of Michigan State by the Vikings in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $12.944 million rookie contract when the Vikings picked up his fifth-year option last year. 

Waynes stands to make a base salary of $9,069,000 for the 2019 season under his fifth-year option. 

According to OverTheCap.com, trading Waynes would free up $9,069,000 of available cap space while creating no dead money. 

In 2018, Waynes appeared in 14 games for the Vikings and recorded 44 tackles, one interception, and eight pass defenses.
