The Minnesota Vikings announced Tuesday that they’ve signed LB Hardy Nickerson, K Chase McLaughlin, and DT Albert Huggins to their practice squad.

Here’s the Vikings updated practice squad:

  2. T Blake Brandel
  3. QB Jake Browning
  4. T Aviante Collins
  5. TE Brandon Dillon
  6. DB Mark Fields
  7. G Kyle Hinton
  8. WR Alexander Hollins
  9. C Brett Jones
  10. LB Blake Lynch
  11. DB Nate Meadors
  12. DB Josh Metellus
  13. QB Nate Stanley
  14. LB Hardy Nickerson
  15. K Chase McLaughlin
  16. DT Albert Huggins

Nickerson, 26, wound up signing on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois back in 2017. He was waived a few weeks into his rookie season and later signed to the Bengals’ practice squad.

Nickerson was on and off of the Bengals’ active roster before joining the Vikings last month. He was among the team’s final roster cuts last weekend.

For his career, Nickerson has appeared in 37 games for the Bengals and recorded 72 tackles, no sacks, a forced fumble, and two passes defended.

McLaughlin, 24, originally signed on with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois. He was among Buffalo’s final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and caught on with the Vikings’ practice squad.

Minnesota wound up cutting him after a week with the team. He had brief stints with the Chargers and 49ers before he was claimed by the Colts.

McLaughlin signed a one-year extension with the team before later being released.

In 2019, McLaughlin appeared in eleven games for the Chargers, Colts, and 49ers. He made 18 of his 23 field goals (78.0) to go along with making all 26 of his extra-point attempts.

Huggins, 23, signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson following the 2019 NFL Draft. He was waived by Houston coming out of the preseason and re-signed to the practice squad.

The Eagles signed Huggins off of Houston’s practice squad before waiving him in November. Huggins was briefly signed by the Patriots but later returned to the Eagles a month later.

Philadelphia waived Huggins in July and he later had a brief stints with the Texans before being claimed by the Lions. Unfortunately, he was among their final roster cuts last weekend.

In 2019, Huggins appeared in four games for the Texans and recorded three tackles and no sacks.
