Washington Places Fourth-Round Pick S Phillip Thomas On Season-Ending IR

HC Mike Shanahan announced on Tuesday that fourth-round pick S Phillip Thomas was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a Lisfranc fracture in his left foot.

  • Thomas is expected to miss 4-5 months.

Washington drafted Thomas and Bacarri Rambo in the hopes of upgrading the back end of their defense. It now appears as that they will head into the 2013 season with a safety tandem of Rambo and veteran Brandon Meriweather.

Thomas led the nation with eight interceptions last season for the Fresno State defense. He should be ready in time for next year’s offseason workouts.
