Ravens An Option For DE Andre Carter?

According to Peter King of Sports Illustrated, free agent DE Andre Carter will be “ready to practice full-speed in training camp” after tearing a quad late into the season last year.

King adds that “some observers” believe the Ravens could show interest in signing him as a much needed replacement for Terrell Suggs who recently torn his Achilles. Despite the fact that Ravens are in serious need of pass rushers right now, King still sees the idea as “unlikely.” Instead, he expects the Patriots to show interest in him once he’s ready to return.

Carter is coming off of an extraordinary season while playing in New England’s 4-3 front. He finished the 2011 season with 10 sacks in just 14 games before suffering his injury and missing the playoffs.

The Ravens will certainly consider all available options, but Carter struggled in a 3-4 just a few years ago, so it would make sense for them to look somewhere else next season.
