Free Agent Rumors: Bengals, Chiefs, Colts, Rams, & Steelers

Bengals

• Sources tell Jason La Canfora that the Bengals have been focused on trying to re-sign WR Marvin Jones, CB Adam Jones and S Reggie Nelson.

Chiefs

• Jason La Canfora expects OLB Tamba Hali to return to the Chiefs, given that they mean a great deal to him.
• However, La Canfora hears that Hali actually has a decent amount of interest in him, which probably isn’t all that surprising considering the limited depth at pass rusher in this year’s market.
• La Canfora hints that the franchise tag is likely coming for S Eric Berry.

Colts

• Jason La Canfora reports that the Colts are trying to gauge the market for their free agent tight ends Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen.
• However, sources have told La Canfora that the Colts haven’t made any real progress with either player towards a long-term deal.
• Interestingly enough, La Canfora mentions that Indianapolis may actually value Allen more than Fleener, given that he’s a more complete tight end.

Rams

• Sources tell Jason La Canfora that the Rams will be using their franchise tag on either Janoris Jenkins or Trumaine Johnson, which fits with previous reports.
• Los Angeles is then hoping to sign the other player to a  long-term deal, but La Canfora admits that even with all of the Rams’ cap space it might prove to be impossible.
• For what it’s worth, La Canfora could actually seem them franchising Johnson over Jenkins.

Steelers

• Should either of the Colts free agent TEs Dwayne Allen or Coby Fleener reach free agency, Jason La Canfora wouldn’t be surprised to see the Steelers signed them to a contract now that Heath Miller has retired.
