Matt Miller of B/R is reporting that the 49ers are interviewing Texans linebackers coach Mike Vrabel for their defensive coordinator position.
Recent reports have said that San Francisco could keep Eric Mangini in place as their defensive coordinator. However, it appears as though new HC Chip Kelly would at least like to speak with a few more candidates before making a decision.
Vrabel, 40, finished his NFL career back in 2010 and took a coaching job with the Ohio State. After three years in Columbus as an assistant, he made the move to the NFL and has been working with Bill O’Brien as their linebackers coach.
