49ers Release C Jeremy Zuttah, Sign LB Sean Porter

The San Francisco 49ers announced Wednesday that they’ve released C Jeremy Zuttah and signed LB Sean Porter to a contract.

Zuttah, 31, is a former third-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2008. He spent six seasons in Tampa Bay before he was traded to the Ravens in 2014 for a fifth-round pick that eventually became WR Kenny Bell.

Zuttah is in the third year of his five-year, $18 million contract that included $6.5 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $3.5 million for the 2017 season.

The Ravens traded Zuttah and their 2017 sixth-round pick to the 49ers in return for San Francisco’s sixth-round pick this past March.

In 2016, Zuttah appeared in all 16 games for the Ravens and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 13 center out of 38 qualifying players.
