AFC Notes: Bills, Dolphins, Jets

Bills

  • In an agent survey by the Athletic’s Ben Standig, Bills GM Brandon Beane got some credit as one of the best general managers in the NFL: “Very advanced in his thinking. Cutting-edge operation.”
  • NFL Media’s Marc Sessler picks Bills WR Stefon Diggs as his breakout candidate to make their first Pro Bowl in 2020.
  • ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques lists Bills K Stephen Hauschka as a veteran player in danger of being cut this preseason.

Dolphins

Jets

  • Brian Costello of the New York Post points out Jets S Marcus Maye‘s future with the team is likely tied to whether or not S Jamal Adams stays in New York long term.
  • If the Jets extend Adams to a presumed top-shelf deal, they could be reluctant to also shell out money for Maye, especially after just drafting S Ashtyn Davis in the third round.
  • For 2020, though, Costello points out Maye is close with Adams and could play a critical role in reconciling the mercurial safety to getting on board without an extension this year.
