Broncos

There was some thought Broncos DT Shelby Harris would get an eight-figure deal as a free agent last season. That didn’t end up happening and he returned to Denver on a one-year, $3.2 million pact. Harris is set to hit the market again and with the pandemic affecting revenues, it’s not clear if he’ll do any better. But he’s not focused on what he can’t control.

“I don’t care about the market. I’ve got nothing to do with the market. That’s my agent’s job,” Harris said via KUSA’s Mike Klis. “My job is to go out there and play football, that’s what I feel like last year you get caught up in listening to too much stuff. That’s why we have an agent. That’s why we pay our agent. That’s their job. My job is to play football.”

  • Broncos RB Melvin Gordon will face some contract uncertainty with a possible suspension or restructure this offseason but says he wants to stay in Denver: “Hopefully, I did enough for them to want to keep me here….There is something special here. Hopefully it works out.” (Troy Renck)
  • Gordon said Broncos QB Drew Lock is going to be the biggest deciding factor for the team moving forward: “We have a window for this team, and he’s the piece that’s going to make or break us.” (Aric DiLalla)
