Dolphins
- Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald commends the play of the Dolphins’ offensive line following their win over the Jaguars, especially the play of rookies T Austin Jackson and G Solomon Kindley.
- Jackson also believes that RB Myles Gaskin is likely the lead back going forward as the team has struggled to get running backs Jordan Howard and Matt Breida involved.
Jaguars
- Ian Rapoport reports that an MRI on Jaguars’ S Andrew Wingard revealed that he had a “relatively minor” groin pull which shouldn’t cause him to miss much time if any.
- Jaguars’ HC Doug Marrone says that the team will be bringing in a kicker on Monday due to the fact that K Brandon Wright also suffered a groin injury on Thursday night. (John Reid)
Jets
Jets DC Gregg Williams spoke highly of S Bradley McDougald and LB Avery Williamson ahead of Week 3’s game.
“Well, I just got briefed on it and I smile because you guys have been out at practice and see how we practice wherever I’m at. And both those guys are very good players, I love them to death, they practice hard,” Williams said, via Peter Botte of the New York Post. “We only have, defensively, with me wherever I’ve been, two tempos and that’s ‘walkthrough’ and ‘go.”
Williams mentioned that the Jets must improve on their tackling, defending on third-downs, and start faster.
“We need to get better … and we’ve got to clean up some things. We’ve got to improve,” Williams said. “We’ve got to improve our tackling, we’ve got to improve on third down. Second halves, you know, scoring has been outstanding, second-half third downs, but we’ve got to start faster. We’ve got to do a better job in the ballgame and minimize some of those explosive plays. But we improved in some areas from Week 1 to Week 2 and now we’ve got to do another big jump this week.”
