AFC South Notes: Colts, Jaguars, Texans

Colts

The Colts predictably saw a drop in passing success after the surprise retirement of Andrew Luck during the preseason. Though injuries at both quarterback and receiver played a role, the Colts dropped from sixth to 30th in the league in passing yards per game. Colts HC Frank Reich said improving that area will be a point of emphasis this offseason for QB Jacoby Brissett and the team.

โ€œWe are used to, around here, in this area of the country, knowing how to throw the football,โ€ Reich said via the Indianapolis Star’s Joel Erickson. โ€œSo we are going to throw the football, OK? We will figure it out. We didnโ€™t do a good enough job this year. We will do better next year.โ€

Jaguars

Texans

  • Per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, Texans HC Bill O’Brien says WR Will Fuller (hamstring) is still working his way back: “He’s progressing, working hard to get back, going to be a day-by-day thing.”
  • Aaron Wilson reports that Texans S Tashaun Gipson aggravated his transverse process fracture in his lower back. Gipson was on injured reserve Tuesday.
