AFC South Notes: Colts, Jaguars, Texans

Colts

The Colts predictably saw a drop in passing success after the surprise retirement of Andrew Luck during the preseason. Though injuries at both quarterback and receiver played a role, the Colts dropped from sixth to 30th in the league in passing yards per game. Colts HC Frank Reich said improving that area will be a point of emphasis this offseason for QB Jacoby Brissett and the team.

“We are used to, around here, in this area of the country, knowing how to throw the football,” Reich said via the Indianapolis Star’s Joel Erickson. “So we are going to throw the football, OK? We will figure it out. We didn’t do a good enough job this year. We will do better next year.”

Jaguars

Texans

  • Per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, Texans HC Bill O’Brien says WR Will Fuller (hamstring) is still working his way back: “He’s progressing, working hard to get back, going to be a day-by-day thing.”
  • Aaron Wilson reports that Texans S Tashaun Gipson aggravated his transverse process fracture in his lower back. Gipson was on injured reserve Tuesday.
