Alterraun Verner & Bernard Pollard Interested In Re-Signing With Titans

As the season comes to a close for the Titans, they will need to make some decisions regarding a few members of their secondary.

Both CB Alterraun Verner and S Bernard Pollard will be unrestricted free agents and have helped turn the Titans secondary into their best unit in their overall defense. From the sounds of things, it appears as though both players would like to return to Tennessee in 2014.

“I would love to be back,” Verner said, via the Nashville Tennessean.. “This is where my home has been for four years and where I’m comfortable with. I’ll definitely weigh all the options and see what happens.”

Pollard echoes that he would like to be back, but appears to be looking for more security in his next contract.

“I do want to come back, but some things have to be done right for me to be here,” Pollard said.

Pollard, 29, produced 134 tackles, three interceptions, a blocked field goal and a blocked extra point for the Titans this season. The produce is good enough for him to find interest from a number of NFL teams, but it looks like it’s going to take a multi-year contract to sign him.

Verner, 25, is going to be a highly coveted free agent next March. He too is in the midst of a career-year for the Titans that includes 56 tackles, five interceptions, one touchdown and 22 pass breakups.

Pro Football Focus has Verner listed as the No. 11 cornerback in the league while Pollard comes in as the No. 18 safety this year.

We have Verner listed as our No. 5 and Pollard as our No. 91 available in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
