Bears Activating TE Adam Shaheen From IR, Placing TE Dion Sims On IR

Mike Garafolo reports that the Bears are activating TE Adam Shaheen off their injured reserve and are placing TE Dion Sims on injured reserve due to a concussion.

Bears officially designated Shaheen to return from injured reserve last week, so this move was expected to occur.

Chicago placed Shaheen on injured reserve due to ankle and foot injuries coming out of the preseason.

Shaheen, 24, was selected with the No. 45 overall pick by the Bears in the 2017 NFL Draft. He is in the second year of his four-year rookie contract worth $5,910,516, which included a signing bonus of $2,438,556.

In 2017, Shaheen appeared in 13 games for the Bears and recorded 12 receptions for 127 yards receiving (10.6 YPC) and three touchdowns.
