Bears Place DB Sherrick McManis & TE Adam Shaheen On IR, Sign TE Eric Saubert

The Chicago Bears announced that they have placed DB Sherrick McManis and TE Adam Shaheen on injured reserve, while they signed TE Eric Saubert to their active roster.

McManis, 31, is a former fifth-round pick of the Texans back in 2010. He spent just two years Houston before he was traded to the Bears for Tyler Clutts in 2021.

The Bears signed McManis to a two-year, $2.85 million deal in 2016 and re-signed to another two-year extension last offseason.

In 2019, McManis has appeared in nine games and recorded nine total tackles, no interceptions, one pass defense, and one forced fumble.

Shaheen, 25, was selected with the No. 45 overall pick by the Bears in the 2017 NFL Draft. He is in the third year of his four-year rookie contract worth $5,910,516, which included a signing bonus of $2,438,556.

In 2019, Shaheen has appeared in eight games and recorded nine receptions for 74 yards receiving (8.2 YPC) and no touchdowns.
